It All Began with Flour and Love
It all started many years ago, amid flour and the aroma of pizza baking in the oven, when a young girl helped grate mozzarella at her aunt’s pizzeria in Barcelona. It was one of the city’s first pizzerias, known for original recipes bursting with creativity and flavor. Those weekends spent with family left a lasting impression that, over time, would become much more than a cherished memory.
In 1983, Aunt Elena opened her pizzeria on Roger de Flor Street in Barcelona. Surrounded by hot ovens, flour, and countless hours of hard work, she began a family story that continues to this day.
This is where our signature dough was born. Paulino, an Argentinian pizza maker, shared a recipe with her that would become part of our identity. Those thick, rectangular pizzas left a lasting impression that has endured through the years.
The recipe has evolved and improved over time, but it remains the foundation of everything we are today.
Aunt Elena took care of every detail with her own hands. She sewed the aprons, made the fabric lampshades, and created a warm, welcoming space with simplicity and care. In fact, the green checkered fabric she used back then is still part of Que Bona!! today.
She was humble, hardworking, and generous—the kind of person who leaves a lasting mark without ever seeking attention. Her pizzeria was a welcoming neighborhood spot where everyone felt at home and there was always time for a smile or a conversation.
Other members of the family also opened pizzerias in Barcelona. Not all of them thrived, but each one is part of our journey.
Thank you, Aunt Elena. Thank you, family!
